Sri Rajiv Gandhi College of Dental Sciences & Hospital was established in the year 1991 by Sir. M. Visvesvaraya education Trust. The Rajiv Gandhi Group of Institutions consist of Dental, Engineering, MBA, Nursing and Teachers Training Colleges. The college offers BDS and MDS in all 9 subjects. It is affiliated to RGUHS, Karnataka and recognized by DCI.

The college is a fully equipped premium institution conducting BDS, MDS and PhD programs. Our goal is to provide premium Oral Health Education and Service and shall strive to enable our students to become proficient and caring Health Care practitioners who will meet challenging healthcare needs.

The college is spread across a massive 32 acre massive picturesque campus located at Shavige Malleswara Hills, Kumaraswamy Layout, Banashankari in south Bangalore. The college is housed with World-Class infrastructure with the latest of equipment and technology state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities, classrooms, tutorial facilities, Pre-Clinical and Clinical Skill Labs creating a perfect environment for knowledge and skills development. The college is recognized by DCI, Government of Karnataka and Government of India and is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka.

The hospital has good inflow of patients to the OPD clinics daily. Every dental department is equipped with highly skilled and efficient faculties who are an expert in their field. The college also encourages and promotes research and development in dentistry.

The college has good clinical facility of about 206 dental chairs to cater to the needs of the patients. The college has good hostel accommodation and food facilities for both the boys and girls. There is 150 seat capacity for boys and 250 capacity of accommodation for girls. The institute has good department based laboratory facility with all state-of-the-art equipments for the benefit of the Students College has a good set up of library for the benefit of the students.

  Hostel

Separate hostels for boys and girls are thoroughly modern and air conditioned, offering single and twin sharing accommodation. There is 150 seat capacity for boys and 250 capacity of accommodation for girls. There are attached toilets with 24 hour supply of hot and cold water. The hostels offer hygienic and nutritious food in the mess and the hostels are under full time surveillance of well-trained wardens who are responsible for maintaining and monitoring them.

 Library

The library fulfils the entire standard laid down by the Dental Council of India. The library has been organised into separate reader services - namely, the main lending section, the text books section, the general reference section and a periodicals and journals section. This is for the assistance and easy access for the students.  photostat machine room, a reading room with audio visual facilities are also made available for the advantage  of students. The library also offers the use of Computers along with Internet services.

  WI-FI campus

The institute is a completely WI-FI enabled campus.

    Sports

Institute has well equipped sports facilities for the students. An Olympic standard indoor swimming pool is provided as recreational facility. A modern gymnasium and health club with latest health equipment and facilities for indoor & outdoor games is available for students. College offers various sports and extracurricular activities to the students.  Sporting activities like court games &    swimming are particularly encouraged in keeping with the College policy of all-round student development.

 Cafeteria

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students. The menu planning at the mess takes particular care of nutritive value of the food being served under the guidance of a dietician. There is a cafeteria and tuck shop retailing ready to eat, hygienic and nutritious food.

The Prosthetic Lab is equipped with complete porcelain and cast partial denture equipment, centrifugal casting machines, model trimmers, articulators, lathes, acrylizers with allied accessories. In addition to this, all the lecture halls are fitted with state-of-the-art systems for effective delivery of lectures.

   MEDICAL

A dispensary with a qualified doctor on call 24 hours a day is available. Besides attending to the medical needs of the students, staff and others in the campus, the doctor also carries out routine medical check-up of the students every month.
