M.S.Ramaiah Dental College and Hospital is one of the most reputed dental colleges in Karnataka. It is now called as faculty of dental sciences. It was established in the year 1991. The college is part of the M.S.Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences. The college is ranked 13th among the top 30 professional dental colleges in India as per INDIA TODAY-MDRA SURVEY. It had secured #11 in the NIRF India Rankings 2020 in the Dental Colleges Category, #13position among the top 30 professional dental colleges in India according to India Today in the year 2019 and ranked #12 among the top 40 other dental colleges in India - Awarded by OUTLOOK in the year 2019.

The college has a magnanimous mammoth campus with the total constructed area of 132617 sq feet.  The vast campus is located at Gnanagangothri campus, New BEL Road, MSR Nagar. The college is recognized by DCI, Government of Karnataka and Government of India and is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka.  The college is run by Gokula Education Foundation (Medical). The college is attached to M S Ramaiah Medical Teaching Hospital Hospital.

It houses a world class hospital within the campus. The college has a large area of 80 acres. There is an attached dental hospital to the college. The hospital has laboratories and other facilities for providing clinical services. The hospital provides special care clinics for geriatric care, handicapped children, oral cancer patients, tobacco cessation centre etc. these special clinics help provide precise and meticulous treatment for all kind of patients visiting the hospital. The college large well equipped classrooms, a well-stocked library, clinical and pre-clinical dental departments and state-of-the-art equipped laboratories. It also has good accommodation facilities for boys and girls. The college offers a fully WI-FI enabled campus, indoor and outdoor game facility, gym, computer lab, auditorium, canteen and in-house medical hospital facilities.

The main mission of this institution is based upon the philosophies of Late Sri M. S. Ramaiah, the visionary and eminent educationalist of time, with a vision to "deliver education and healthcare for the betterment of the mankind". The college provides good hostel facilities and gym facilities to the students within the campus. The institute has housed a good state of the art library.  The college is fully WI-FI equipped for the benefit of the students. The college offers BDS, MDS course in all 9 subjects, PG diploma, certificate course in aesthetic dentistry and implantology and PhD Programmes to the students.

With about 75 members of highly skilled faculty, the college puts the best foot forward for the all round development of the students. There are around 400 students in the dental campus. Members of the faculty are also well trained in research, patent, innovation and invention. They present their research findings at various forums and publish more than 50 papers, annually, in peer reviewed journals. The faculty of dental sciences also has an internationally peer reviewed journal, Journal of Orofacial & Dental Research to their credit. The college also has an active placement cell in the college. They groom and train young graduates and interns and provide career guidance and even impart entrepreneur training. The college also encourages extracurricular activities of the students for their overall development with in-house photography club, drama club, quiz club and debating clubs.

The college has good clinical facility of about 274 dental chairs to cater to the needs of the patients. The college has good hostel accommodation and food facilities for both the boys and girls. There is 700 seat capacity for boys and 900 capacity of accommodation for girls. The institute has good department based laboratory facility with all state-of-the-art equipments for the benefit of the Students College has a good set up of library for the benefit of the students.

FACILITIES

    Hostel

Separate hostels for boys and girls are thoroughly modern and air conditioned, offering single and twin sharing accommodation. There is 700 seat capacity for boys and 900 capacity of accommodation for girls. There are attached toilets with 24 hour supply of hot and cold water. The hostels offer hygienic and nutritious food in the mess and the hostels are under full time surveillance of well-trained wardens who are responsible for maintaining and monitoring them.

Library

The library fulfils the entire standard laid down by the Dental Council of India. Photostat machine room, a reading room with audio visual facilities are also made available for the advantage of students. The library also offers the use of Computers along with Internet services.

Cafeteria

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students. The menu planning at the mess takes particular care of nutritive value of the food being served under the guidance of a dietician. There is a cafeteria and tuck shop retailing ready to eat, hygienic and nutritious food. There are multiple food outlets in the campus.

IT infrastructure is  well-appointed for the overall development of the students. Provision for computer and Internet facility is provided in teaching places so that the students can explore the subjects with latest updates.
