Government Dental College and Hospital is one of the reputed dental colleges in Bangalore, India. The Government Dental College in Bangalore is the first dental college in Karnataka. It is a government dental college administered by an Autonomous Body Promoted by Central/State Govt.  It was established in the year 1964-65 at no Victoria Hospital Campus, Fort., Bangalore, India.

The college started with a vision of integrative educational innovation; basic and translational researches; and high quality, patient-centered, inter professional health care and oral health care for all. It works with a single point mission of improving oral health care of the population and producing leaders in the field of dentistry.

The college is attached to its own hospital i.e. Victoria Hospital, Bangalore. The college is affiliated to prestigious Rajiv Gandhi University of health sciences, Bangalore and recognised by the Dental Council of India.

   Hostel

Separate hostels for boys and girls are thoroughly modern and air conditioned, offering single and twin sharing accommodation. The hostels offer hygienic and nutritious food in the mess and the hostels are under full time surveillance of well-trained wardens who are responsible for maintaining and monitoring them.

The library has a vast collections of books and journals. The library has a total book count of 9404 and a total of 2596 journals. Central Library consists of the following sections: Circulation service,  Reference service, Photocopying service, HELINET service (e-books &e-journals), Question papers and Syllabus lending service, Audio visual service, Newspaper clipping service and Current Awareness service. The library has been organised into separate reader services - namely, the main lending section, the text books section, the general reference section and a periodicals and journals section. This is for the assistance and easy access for the students.

Laboratory facility

The college has a departmental based laboratory facility for the students. The College has a provision of labs that include pre clinical prosthetics & Conservative labs for preclinical training of undergraduates. The Pre-clinical Conservative Dentistry lab is equipped with state of the art patient simulation systems to train the students in a virtual clinical environment. Laboratory facility is available for fabrication of prosthodontic & orthodontic appliances. For histopathology pertaining to dentistry the department of Oral Pathology also has lab facility.
