DSI was founded by Late Shri.Dayananda Sagar, Barrister at Law and managed presently by Dr.D.Hemachandra Sagar and Dr.D.Premachandra Sagar.

  Hostel

Separate hostels for boys and girls are thoroughly modern and air conditioned, offering single and twin sharing accommodation. There is 150 seat capacity for boys and 250 capacity of accommodation for girls. There are attached toilets with 24 hour supply of hot and cold water. The hostels offer hygienic and nutritious food in the mess and the hostels are under full time surveillance of well-trained wardens who are responsible for maintaining and monitoring them.

 Library

The library fulfils the entire standard laid down by the Dental Council of India. The library has been organised into separate reader services - namely, the main lending section, the text books section, the general reference section and a periodicals and journals section. This is for the assistance and easy access for the students.  photostat machine room, a reading room with audio visual facilities are also made available for the advantage  of students. The library also offers the use of Computers along with Internet services.

Institute has well equipped sports facilities for the students. An Olympic standard indoor swimming pool is provided as recreational facility. A dispensary with a qualified doctor on call 24 hours a day is available. Besides attending to the medical needs of the students, staff and others in the campus, the doctor also carries out routine medical check-up of the students every month.
