GNIDSR is the first private dental college and hospital in West Bengal possessing all the state-of-the-art equipments and infrastructural facilities for imparting the latest teaching and training in the field of Dental Surgery. It is also the first private dental college in west Bengal to be awarded Recognition by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India and The Dental Council of India.

GNIDSR is a private dental college located in Panihati, Kolkata, in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences and is recognised by Dental Council of India. It is administered by the trust administration. It is managed by JIS Group Educational Initiatives. It was established on 2002-2003 at Panihati, Kolkata, West Bengal.

The main mission of the college is to develop Experienced and Quality Faculty in Different Domains of Oral Health Care, to Inculcate High Degree of Professional Competence Amongst the Learners in the Institution and to Provide Comprehensive and Affordable Patient Care to the Society. The college is centrally located with 5.2 Acres of Sprawling Campus in Kolkata with More Than Eight Floors Dedicated to Specialised Dentistry. It is a premier dental institution with the state-of-the-art infrastructure and highly qualified and experienced faculty and doctors delivering quality education and best oral health care for the entire population of West Bengal. The hospital has a well experienced set of faculty to provide excellent academic and clinical excellence. The college also encourages research and innovations. The college has a massive inflow of patients with an annual patient turnover of approximately 1.8 lakh patients per year, the highest in any private dental college in West Bengal. The college has MOU with International Medical University, Kuala Lumpur, IIT Kharagpur and Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur for Research and College of Medicine & Sagar Dutta Hospital (CMSDH).

The college has good clinical facility of about 207 dental chairs to cater to the needs of the patients. The college has good hostel accommodation and food facilities for both the boys and girls. There is 98 seat capacity for boys and 85 capacity of accommodation for girls. The college has more than 85 full time faculties imparting dental education in a unique interactive didactic module. The institute boasts having Safe & Secure Campus with CCTV surveillance with ample recreational facilities (Badminton, Football, Basketball) for students. The institute has good department based laboratory facility with all state-of-the-art equipments for the benefit of the Students College has a good set up of library for the benefit of the students.

  Hostel

The college is equipped with two separate hostels for boys and girls. There is 98 seat capacity for boys and 85 capacity of accommodation for girls. The institute provides in campus hostel facility to its students. The hostel is equipped with essential amenities like filtered drinking water, common room with television, telephone and gymnasium. The hostel, being in-campus has 24*7 securities for the boarders. Strict in and out timings are maintained to discourage late night travel among students. Parents are encouraged to meet hostel warden frequently to discuss issues regarding hostel facilities and their wards. The institute takes all measures to make the campus RAGGING FREE. Freshers are encouraged to have a Teacher Mentor with them, as to help them deal with the initial social adjustment to a new place.

The institute library swanks a robust collection of books and journals for enabling the students to enrich themselves and compete with the best in the profession. Students are encouraged to spend time in library and a seating capacity of 130 chairs ensures no student is deprived of a place in the library.The library encompasses more than of 4163 books and volumes and as much as 3667 titles. The collection ranges to approximately 60 international speciality journal subscriptions and 35 national speciality journal subscriptions.The library allows access to its electronic subscriptions which amount to approximately 290 journals through EBESCO web portal for effective postgraduate teaching.

  IT Infrastructure

IT infrastructure is well-appointed for the overall development of the students. The college houses two dedicated SMART CLASSROOMS, one FLIP LEARNING CLASSROOM, Student Alumni Centre, Student Counselling Area and the Student Enrichment Centre with Gymnasium Yoga & Cultural Centres. The air-conditioned Smart Classroom make learning a visual treat and enables the students to experience the lectures in all its dimensions. Easy interaction between different software enables the teachers to make the student understand the concepts of medicine and dentistry by showing videos and text simultaneously. The classrooms are linked with our virtual E-Learning Portal designed by Hash Technologies which has more than 3 gigabytes of password protected teaching material available only to our students. Regular Case Based Learning Sessions and Problem Based Learning Sessions make our lecture classrooms the “ Virtual Clinic ” for our students.

Flip Learning is a modern concept of teaching in which the study material is given to the student prior to the class. The student, who is partially prepared, enters the class with his array of doubts and queries. Teaching is not didactic but participatory and in small group discussion sessions.

   Auditorium

Auditorium Facility Is Well-Resourced For Events And Seminars. GNIDSR Has A State Of The Art 500 Seater Air Conditioned Auditorium at the Sardar Jodh Singh Block. It Was Inaugurated On 1st Feb 2020 to Commemorate The 100th Birth Centennial Celebration Of Our Founder Chairman Late Sardar Jodh Singh. The auditorium houses state of the art acoustics and audiovisual aids. It serves as a beacon of imparting knowledge and opportunities to our students through various regional and national scientific conferences and seminars conducted in it.

     MEDICAL

A dispensary with a qualified doctor on call 24 hours a day is available. The campus has an in-house pharmacy, which will provide essential drugs to our patients as well as campus residents and students. The pharmacy will give patients drugs at a subsidised cost as it is under Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadi Yojana and Fair Price Drug Scheme of Government of West Bengal.
