BIDSH is the oldest private Dental College of the Eastern Northern India. Patna is the capital and largest city of the state of Bihar in India. It is a private dental college managed by being managed by "Gautam International Pratisthan: a registered society.  It was established in the year 1985-86 at Kankarbagh, Patna. The college is attached to Jagdish Memorial Hospital. The college is affiliated to Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, Bihar and recognised by the Dental Council of India.

The college is spread across a sprawling magnanimous area with the objective of serving the population with dedication and precision. The hospital sees an average of 625 patients per day, which comes to an approximate of two lakh patients per year. This gigantic patient inflow is treated by 80 super specialist dentist and 300 under graduates and 40 post graduate trainees of the institution. It is a premier dental institution with the state-of-the-art infrastructure and highly qualified and experienced faculty and doctors.

The college has good clinical facility of about 314 dental chairs to cater to the needs of the patients. The college has good hostel accommodation and food facilities for both the boys and girls. The institute has a very good hostel facility of 150 accommodations for boys and 275 accommodations for girls. The college is completely WI-FI enabled for the benefit of the students. The laboratory of the college is well equipped with the most sophisticated and modern equipments. Its rich library is for the benefit of the students.

FACILITIES

Hostel

Hostel facilities are available for boys and girls separately. The girls hostel is situated in the institute premises but the boys hostels are located in the nearby area approximately one km. from the institute building. All these hostels are having separate establishments. Each resident is provided with a cot, table, chair and almirah. Hostel rooms are provided with light, fixtures, ceiling fans etc. Hostel fee structure is as follows though it has independent establishment.

For PG candidates hostel facilities include air-condition room with 24 hrs Wi-Fi connection. The management reserves the right to change hostel fee and provisions given in this prospectus. The hostel facilities have been recently upgraded and expanded.

 Library

The College library maintains a rich collection of books, newspapers, magazines and periodicals. The Library treasures several editions of ace books journals from back volumes to current, of all specialties of dentistry making it the most sought after not only by the inmates but also by students and scholars from other dental institutes of India.  Books and periodicals of common interest find a special place here that gives a pleasurable break along with worthwhile info as one reads them. Audio visual library, a full time free online access and facilities of photocopy, image scanning, printing, spiral binding, thermal binding and lamination are also available.

   Sports

Institute has well equipped sports facilities for the students. The college encourages students to actively participate in sport activities.

College possess two canteens where faculties, staff & students can have snacks and food during recesses. Canteens maintained taste, hygiene and quality at subsided rate.

  Laboratory facility

The college has a departmental based laboratory facility for the students. The College has a provision of labs that include pre clinical prosthetics & Conservative labs for preclinical training of undergraduates. Laboratory facility is available for fabrication of prosthodontic & orthodontic appliances. For histopathology pertaining to dentistry the department of Oral Pathology also has lab facility.

Auditorium facility is well-resourced for events and seminars. They are equipped with latest seminar halls for PG Trainees and discussion halls for CDE and Symposium. Huge Conference Hall of International level is designed with latest multimedia facility for faculty and management meeting, interdisciplinary discussions and miscellaneous works.
